Random sidebar photos: UK set

At the top of my sidebar I have had a photograph that is was randomly displayed using JavaScript. How is was this done, and where were the images taken?

The code

The basic XHTML goes like this, which serves to position a white "spacer" over the top of which the random photo will display:

<img src="spacer.png" width="239" height="75" name="myPicture" alt="" />

The required JavaScript is loaded via the body tag:

<body onload="choosePic()">

The images

The following set of images was displayed from December 2005 until April 2005.

random_pic_1

random_pic_3
