Use your T610 as a GPRS modem to send and receive e-mail, browse the Web, update WorldMate weather and currency rates, etc...
This information is in part based on an e-mail I received from Vodafone Customer Care concerning pairing a Palm OS 4 device and and a Seimens S55 (click here). This is a modified walkthrough for the T3 (OS 5) and SE T610: it worked for me.
Prepare your phone
Let's assume you've already configured your phone for MMS and/ or WAP-over-GPRS e-mail/ web access—so you know you have a working GPRS service. You can active Bluetooth on the T610 by going to Connect > Bluetooth > Turn On.
Tip: create a Shortcut for future use.
You also need to make sure that the T610 can be "discovered" by another Bluetooth device. Go to Connect > Bluetooth > Options > Visibility and select Show Phone.
Recap: You have GPRS working and the T610's Bluetooth turned on and discoverable.
Prepare your T3
Maybe you've already played around with a Bluetooth PAN between your T3 and Mac, using it to share your Internet connection or to send files to/from the Palm to the Mac—so you know about pairing Bluetooth devices and how to activate/ deactivate the Bluetooth radio on the T3. Maybe not, so we'll go through pairing the T3 and T610 anyhow.
Using the Prefs app, turn Bluetooth On, making sure the Palm is discoverable and connectable:
Pair the T610 and T3
The Phone Link app on your T3 already included drivers for the T610 when it shipped.
Open the Phone Link app; a Connection Setup wizard should start. Choose Next.
In the Manufacturer drop-down menu, choose Sony-E.
In the Model drop-down menu, choose T610 then Next.
In the next screen, choose to connect Via Bluetooth; click Next.
The Palm will now search for your phone:

In the Discovery Results window, T610 should be selected:

Choose Next.
You will be informed of the need to make up a temporary passkey to create a trusted connection; click Next.
Enter your passkey (e.g. a numeric PIN) and click OK.
On the T610, you will be asked if you want to add your Palm (username) to My Devices; click Yes:

You will now need to re-enter to passkey on the T610; once done press OK.
Back on the Palm you should now see a Confirmation message, asking if you want this to be the default connection for all your phone applications. Click Yes then Done.
Congratulations; your phone and Palm are now an item. But you haven't finished...
Communication Preferences are next
The wizard will now ask if you want to setup your handheld to connect to the Internet and send e-mail. Click No. That's right, No.
Exit Phone Setup.
Open the Palm Prefs app and then open the Connection pane: check T610 (the connection you created above) is selected, then tap Edit... to confirm the following settings, then OK followed by Done:

Open the Phone pane and click Test to ensure the Palm is able to communicate with your phone; click OK then Done when the test completes.
Open the Network pane and click New to create a new network service. Enter these settings:
Service: Vodafone UK GPRS (or any other name you like)
User Name: web (case sensitive)
Password: web (case sensitive)
Connection: T610 (pick the connection you created above)
Phone: *99# (the GPRS dial-up number)
Your screen should now look like this:

Now click Details... to open a new window and make sure Query DNS and IP Address are checked:

Tap Script...
Tap the down-arrow next to End and select Send.
Enter ATZ.
Tap the down-arrow next to End and select Send CR.
Tap the down-arrow next to End and select Send. Enter the following text, ensuring that all punctuation marks are entered and no spaces are left. Here, "1" is the caller identification number (CID#) of your GPRS Data comm and "internet" is the name of the APN:
at+cgdcont=1,"ip","internet"
Tap the down-arrow next to End and select Send CR.
Your screen should now look like this:

Tap OK to return to the Details screen and OK again to return to the Preferences screen.
Tap Done and exit Prefs.
Open a Palm app that uses Internet access and away you go...
What if I'm not with Vodafone UK?
Ask your GPRS service provider for the correct settings, or you may be able to find them here or here.
Use your Palm to browse the web
Compare the experience on the T610...

... to the same page (www.google.com) as seen on the T3:

Use your Palm to manage e-mail, voicemail, fax

Use your T610 to update data for other Palm apps
For example, synchronize WorldMate with an atomic clock, or get weather updates en-route:

This is an unbelievably accurate article on how to get online. I've been struggling to get my Zire72 on and inspite of help from the damn assisting engineer, wasn't getting anywhere.
Thanks a lot to the author, Bruce, surfing the net on my palm was the highlight of my day. Thanks man.
